Sunday afternoon Cardiff City Ladies hosted AFC Bournemouth at Ocean Park in The FA Women’s National League. In the reverse fixture The Dragons were victories away from home and winning 1 – 2 with goals from Kerry Bartlett and Emily Poole.
Cardiff City Ladies Manger Jamie Phillip gave three home derbys for new signings; Kaitlyn Morgan, Nadia Lawrence and American, Elianna Chavez.



The first chance in the game came for visitors AFC Bournemouth with a header that hit the woodwork and fell into the safe hands of Cardiff City Ladies Keeper, Laura O’Sullivan. Thirteen minutes in, the Dragons has a goal disallowed due to a foul by AFC Bournemouth Keeper, Kate Scadding.
It didn’t take long for one of Cardiff’s new signing’s to make a difference, as Grace Seren found the feet of Kaitlyn Morgan, who found the back of the net to give the Dragons a 1 – 0 advantage going into the break.




Cardiff City Ladies’ Grace Seren has the first chance in the second half with AFC Bournemouth defenders struggling to keep the ball, presenting Striker Grace Seren a further chance for a goal which ultimately went wide. In the 74th minute. The Dragons’ Laura Williams was brought down in the penalty box which resulted in a penalty for the home team. With usual penalty taker, Chloe Lloyd, out with injury, Captain Cori Williams step up to the plate. Cori Williams doubled the lead for the Dragons by finding the back of the net.
The three points stay in Wales with Cardiff City Ladies. An important three points as The Dragons are in a title race against Exeter City Women who sit first with three points above Cardiff City. Jamie Phillip’s side look to take advantage with two games in hand and over take Exeter City in the race for promotion in the Women’s FA National League.
