Butetown celebrates Ghana’s anniversary of Independence

Crowds gathered at Butetown Community Centre in Cardiff on Saturday for a flag raising ceremony allowing citizens of Butetown to honor Ghana’s 66th anniversary together as a community.

The Independence Day is celebrated every March 6 every year in remembrance of the heroes of Ghana who of which helped the country achieve independence from Britain in 1957. Ghana’s mark this day by; flag waving, parades, marches, fireworks and by spending time with loved ones.
