Cardiff City Ladies before kick off

Cardiff City Ladies traveled away to Lancashire FA County Grounds on Sunday to play Northern Premier League side Burnley women in the fourth round of the Women’s FA Cup. The dragons looking to upset The Clarets, by beating them and advancing to the next round.

Captain Cori Williams led from the front, finding the opening goal of the game in the twenty – second minute of the first half with a one to one with keeper, Lucy Farrell. Laura Williams quickly followed with a goal, which doubled the Dragons lead – giving Cardiff City Ladies the lead at half time.

The second half saw Norwegian, Ingrid Aadland, come on in the fifty – first minute and extend Cardiff’s lead. Cardiff City Ladies keeper, Laura O’Sullivian, was set to have a clean sheet, however, Burley’s Evie Priestly had other plans, giving a goal back to The Clarets in the closing minutes.

It was announced on Monday evening that Cardiff City Ladies will play Championship side Lewes FC in the next round of the FA Cup. With date and time to be confirmed.
