Newport Civic Centre, Newport, Wales, February 12 2022. Protesters gather in newport to remember the life of Mouayed Bashir and morn his death on its 1 year anniversary. Mouayied died in police custody on February, 12th, 2021 after the emergancy services were called to help with Mouayed with a mental health crisis the police arrived first and Mouayied was restrained. Moyied Died while being restrained by Gwent police and so far the police body cam footage has not been released to the public. Protesters walk in the road to the civic centre holding banners.
Over 100 supporters gathered in Newport to remember the life of Mouayed Bashir on the first anniversary of his death. Mouayed died on February, 17th, 2021 in hospital hours after he was restrained by Gwent police.
The crowd walked through the city accompanied by family and friends of Mouayed carrying a large banner reading ‘Justice for Mouayed Bashir.’
