‘Isle of Wight’

A large red ship is seen gliding over the Solent estuary as the evening light reflects off RSPB Brading Marshes, Isle of Wight. 27th January 2022. Over 50% of the Isle of Wight is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It also holds the title of a UNESCO Biosphere, which recognises its conservation and environmental efforts. The Isle of Wight is subsequently home to a number of rare animals, such as the white-tailed eagle, the red squirrel and the beaver. All these animals hold an important part in the animal kingdom, for example the beaver is a keystone animal and the white-tailed eagle is an apex predator; both help restore balance to the biodiversity of the land, making the Isle of Wight a haven.
