Today many Muslims in Cardiff gathered at Grange Gardens for Eid celebrations.

The event in Grange Gardens drew many Muslims, who were able to get their henna done, buy clothes from stalls and take part in a range of activities. Among the many things that were provided for young children were bouncy castles, games, face painting etc. The event was held to commemorate Eid Al-Fitr. Eid Al-Fitr is one of two major Muslim festivals celebrated globally. It is referred to as “the feast of fast-breaking” since it marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims worldwide celebrated on April 21st, with some celebrating a day later on April 22nd. Since then, many eid celebrations have brought the community together.

The event in Grange Gardens was one of many Eid celebrations taking place during this month and in the next. The proceeds raised today from this event will be going towards community youth projects.
