World Book Day which is taking place on the 2nd of March 2023 can also be known as World Book and Copyright Day. This day is referred to as an international day of the book and is annually organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation to promote reading, publishing and copyright.

There are lots of different people and companies that will be taking part in World Book Day 2023 including over 4,000 booksellers.

To encourage young children and families to choose a book and explore the fascinating world of reading, several retailers and supermarkets across the UK are participating in a gifting programme that offers books for just £1.

Children have the chance to express their creativity while dressing as their favourite character on World Book Day. Children have a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their passion of reading through the characters they create while having fun. Some kids might even express a fondness for storytelling and show interest in creating their own short story.
