Cardiff Castle Remembrance Field opening

Today at Cardiff Castle, the opening of the Field of Remembrance brought hundreds of people in to pay their respects, and enjoy the memorial service. Representatives from all sections of the military were there to help make sure the service went smoothly.

Many people chose to plant wooden poppies with personalised messages on, creating a beautiful display of honour, dignity and respect.

Military representatives shared their stories with us, about those they have lost and what Remembrance Day means to them. Members of the public also told their stories, whether they came from military families or just wanted to pay respects.

The Field of Remembrance is open to the public from 3rd November until the 17th November, situated in the grounds of the castle. It is accessible from the entrance on the high street.
