The tributes have been pouring in since that night. People like Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher, Elton John, Tom Morello, Jill Biden and many more have spoken out about the musician’s death, some dedicating concerts, others dedicating songs.

Taylor Hawkins began his career in 1994 in Orange County and then he became Alanis Morisette’s drummer for Jagged Little Pill and Can’t Not tour. After the Foo Fighters’s drummer William Goldsmith left the band, Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters singer and front man, asked Hawkins for advice, but he ended up volunteering as a drummer for Grohl’s band.

He contributed to several projects working with people like Queen’s Roger Taylor, Red Hot Chili Peppers’s Chad Smith, Jane’s Addiction, Guns N’ Roses’s Slash, Elton John and many more.

His death came the night before the Foo Fighters were meant to go on the Estéreo Picnic Festival in Bogotá. After the announcement, the stage became a candlelight vigil for Hawkins.

The Foo Fighters have cancelled the rest of their tour. It has been especially hard to see the way Foo Fighter’s frontman Dave Grohl, presented the drummer on what would be his last concert ever.

For those of us who were unlucky and did not get to see him live, we missed out. But for the lucky ones, they got to see a true legend perform and I will forever envy you. One of the bands with the longest trajectories will live in our hearts.

The event took place in Bogotá, Colombia during their 2022 tour. The cause of death is unclear.
