Legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar (92) breathed her last breath on Sunday at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai-India. The singer was known as the ‘’Nightingale of India’’, was cremated according to Hindu rituals with full state honors. From Prime Minister of India to Indian celebrities as Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Rani Mukerji among others paid their last respects to Mangeshkar. Celebrities across boarders are also sharing condolences through social media platforms.
Mangeshkar the daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar and Shevanti Mangeshkar, had been from a family with a background in music. She was initially tutored by her father and later had groundbreaking entrance in the Indian industry. She not only sang in different languages but had won many awards for her singing nationally and internationally.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan also mourned the death of Lata Mangeshkar. “With the death of Lata Mangeshkar the subcontinent has lost one of the truly great singers the world has known. Listening to her songs has given so much pleasure to so many people all over the world,” he tweeted.
The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry called the loss of Mangeshkar as “the end of an era” and represented his tribute to the singer by calling her as “a melodious queen who ruled the world of music for decades.”
Among other actors , a senior TV actor Samina Pirzada from Pakistan expressed her respect to the great singer in her tweet, ‘’You were the voice of my every feeling in this world. You will live in my memories and in my heart forever till eternity. Rest in power in the new realm.’’
The mourners from different parts of the world are presenting tribute to the iconic Indian singer through their messages on social media. The Govt of India has issued an order of 2 days national mourning for the late singer.
