Landmarks across Cardiff were illuminated in purple last night for Holocaust Memorial Day to remember the victims of genocide. The 27th of January also marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration & extermination camp of Word War II.
Cardiff Castle was one of a host of national landmarks across Britain, including Wembley Stadium and the Tyne Bridge, which took part in the event, with the traditional remembrance ceremony hosted online from 7pm due to lockdown restrictions.
