Spacemen: Not just a band

Words and pictures by Meg Ellis

Jordan Timms, Liam Dean and Max Smith are a trio of songwriters and producers known as Spacemen. Together they work out of Numen Studios in Addlestone, Surrey, which was set up in 2017 and have produced, written, mixed and worked with many up and coming artists as well as established names such as Dua Lipa, Sigrid and Dermot Kennedy.

The trio, having worked as co-writers and producers for other artists for a number of years, recently launched their own creative project. Their debut EP, ‘You’re Hearing Things’, is set for release later this year.

“This project has been our little secret for quite a while now and it feels strange to finally be preparing for its release into the world. It’ll be a new experience for us as a group and as friends, but it’s exciting to see it all come together. I’m already looking forward to what’s next.”

“We still write and produce songs for other people and we’ll always enjoy doing that, but having our own project as a channel for expressing our own thoughts and ideas has been incredibly cathartic.”

-Liam Dean

Jordan, Liam and Max all have their individual strengths within the mixing, producing, writing and recording process, meaning that creating this EP has been an entirely independent process. Having the studio, equipment and experience allows them to have total creative freedom with their music, something that not all musical artists are fortunate enough to have.

To keep up to date with their music and work you can follow them on instagram at @spacemen_music and @numenstudios

With the EP soon to be released you will not want to miss out.
