Captain and President of Cardiff University Football Club, Ben Marett set up an initiative to accompany girls walking home on their own after a recent image circulated online claiming that Saturday 24th April would be a ‘National Rape Day,’ in which male students were encouraged to sexually assault young women. Twenty members of the football club volunteered to walk the girls who messaged them requesting company home from 8pm to 5am the following morning.
