On March 16, 2020, the UK Government called for drastic action to halt the spread of coronavirus and advised public buildings, including theatres and live music venues, to close.

Last night, students and lecturers on the BA Sound and Live Event Production course of University of South Wales, turned the ATRium building in Cardiff red to to raise awareness and mark one year since the last live event in the UK. The red light was on from 6pm till 8pm.
BA Sound and Live Event Production lecturer, Jack Elderfield, says that the team will be recreating this event tonight at the the Great Hall, Cardiff. The event is one of many taking part on buildings across the UK this week in support of the #wemakeevents movement.
The #WeMakeEvents is an international movement to highlight the support that the live events sector needs from local governments to survive the Covid-19 crisis. The focus is to get Government initiatives to help the industry get back to work while providing support in the meantime.
