Cardiff Council have fenced off the steps of the Oval Basin in Cardiff Bay, in a bid to discourage people from gathering in groups at a time when Covid-19 restrictions are still in place.
The fences were put in place by Cardiff Council following discussions with South Wales Police. It comes after officers were forced to disperse groups sitting on the steps during the hottest weekend of the year in February.
Similar fencing was erected last summer following a series of large gatherings on the steps which required police intervention and the deployment of council staff to carry out a massive clean-up operation.
