Cardiff International Sport Stadium, Cardiff. 9th February 2021. Cardiff City u23 vs Colchester u23 in the professional development league south. FT 4-1. Cardiff carry on impressive form beating 10 men Colchester 4-1 at Cardiff International Sport Stadium on Tuesday. Another brace from Isaak Davies and goals also from midfielder Kenna Patten and an own goal sealed the bluebirds their third consecutive win in the Professional Development League South. 3 minutes into the match Colchester captain Cracknell was sent off for a dangerous foul on City attacker Kieron Evans who was through one on one with the goalkeeper. The bluebirds then dominated against the 10 men, McWilliams had a great chance to open the scoring 10 minutes in, but goalkeeper Johnson narrowly beat him to the ball and only 5 minutes later forward Isaak Davies strike mashed into the post. After all Cardiff’s domination they final got their breakthrough half an hour into the match, Kennan Patten hammered home from the edge of the box giving City the lead. And only 2 minutes later City extended that lead from the penalty spot, forward Isaak Davies converted firing into the top corner, again 6 minutes later the bluebirds were awarded another penalty, Rubin Colwill was fouled in the box, Davies stepped up and this time slotted the ball in the bottom corner to seal his brace. After the interval Cardiff continued to dominate, they came close early on with Rubin Colwill striking the post but then against the run of play Colchester were awarded a penalty, the third of the match, Stagg stepped for the U’s and slotted nicely into the corner of the goal giving them a consultation goal bringing it back to 3-1. City responded well to conceding, Rubin Colwill’s powerful cross was turned into its own net by Martins who scores an own goal on his trial for the Colchester. That proved to be the final goal of the match as City secured three points and three consecutive wins in the league
