Thousands turn out for Newport Half Marathon

Newport, Cardiff. 1st March 2020. The Admiral city of Newport Half Marathon on St David's day is in support of St David's hospice care. The route goes along the iconic features of the city of Newport and the caerleon village. Almost 2,500 runners participated, which raised over £200,000 for charity. many people dressed for the occasion of St Davids day.

THOUSANDS of runners took to the streets yesterday for the Admiral city of Newport Half Marathon. Being St David’s day, participants and spectators dressed for the occasion wearing Daffodil hats and badges.

The overall male winner was Adam Bull, 24, who finished the course in 1: 08: 08 – breaking the course record.

The overall female winner was Sioned Howells, who finished in 1:22:25.

Almost 2,5000 runner completed the route which goes passes iconic features of the city of Newport and Caerleon, raising over £200,000 for St David’s hospice care in the process.
