A woman from Carmarthen who was told she would never walk has completed the Red Warrior Challenge 5k obstacle race to raise money for charity.
Emily Saer born prematurely and has cerebral palsy which affects the muscles in her arms and legs.
After being told she would never walk on her own, never go to a mainstream school, never drive, and never live an independent life, Emily has proved everyone wrong.
She said: “Fitness was something a lot about before actually doing it. It always something I was always interested in. It was something I thought I’d never be able to do.”
She says eventually she took the leap and decided to start training.
“I was either going to be able to do it or I wasn’t, and it turned out I was able to do it,” she added.
She ran the 5k race to raise money for cerebral palsy charity, Bobath Cymru.
She says going to the gym and training has changed her life. She hopes her story will inspire other people with disabilities.
